Dr. Hans-Ludwig Dankwardt, partner
Swiss/German national, with over 25 years work experiences in the Middle East for global companies like Ernst & Young, Hewlett Packard and Hitachi. His interests are focused on innovative water and renewal energy technologies, environmental engineering as well as food safety and security projects based on Seawater Agriculture. During these years he became trusted advisor of several Governments in the Middle East. He earned his PhD at University of Armed Forces in Munich/Germany and his MSc at University of St. Gallen/Switzerland.
Dr. Gabriele Roselius, CEO & partner
Swiss/German national, with over 25 years experience in financial services with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and UBS AG. Gabriele set-up and managed the global family office at UBS AG, offering services such as philanthropy, governance and finances. She was a founding partner of Alpha Mundi Group (micro finance) and the CEO of Best Buddies Switzerland for the US based Shriver/Kennedy family. She designs operational frameworks for innovative, entrepreneurial situations, and has gained knowledge in managing business units at a global and regional level. She is an IUCN NBS professional #203/valid
2022-2026, Chair of the Advisory board of the new "Sustainability
Institut" at the Department Forests and Forestry at HNE (former
Humboldt University). She holds an MBA and PhD from University of St. Gallen/Switzerland.
Blaise Girard, partner
Swiss national with a 25+ year track record as an investment banker with Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, Bank of America and Wells Fargo. Blaise has extensive experience across all aspects of cross boarder advisory work with public and private corporates including debt and equity financing, acquisitions, divestments, defence and portfolio optimisation. Blaise graduated from the University of StGallen/Switzerland and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago.
Anthony Hawkins, team
Australian national, with over 20 years experience as English and Australian qualified lawyer. Tony is currently the legal and M&A Director at Columbus Energy Resources plc. Previously he was the General Council and Head of Commercial for a London listed oil and gas company. He advises CEOs and Boards on strategic issues, legal risk management with a focus on large scale M&A and Project Development. Tony earned his LL.B in Law at Murdoch University Perth/Australia and holds a BA from the University of western Australia. He is a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators, he sat on the legal committee of Oil & Gas UK and helped develop the Master Sale Agreement for the European Federation of Energy Traders. Tony is our Chief Legal Officer for the Middle East Region.
Dr. Abel Riaza-Frutos, team
Spanish national, with over 15 years working at international level for global companies in the water sector. He developed his activities and projects in several areas such as desalination, drinking water, wastewater treatment, reuse and Zero Liquid Discharge, among others, combined and linked with another areas such as energy and food. During this time, he has also developed several roles as Chief Technology Officer and Business Development Manager. He focuses on the development and market implementation of emerging technologies, solutions and products in addition to those more mature and conventional. He earned a PhD degree in chemical engineering at University of Cadiz/Spain and holds additional university degrees in water and environment management. Abel is our Chief Technology Officer.
Dr. Roman Hohl, team
Swiss national, he has over 15 years working experience in the agriculture (re)insurance industry on all main aspects of agricultural risk transfer, including work for Partner Re, Converium and Swiss Re, having developed new national agriculture insurance schemes (e.g. Brazil and Vietnam) and leading the development of agriculture risk quantification models for China and India at the Asia Risk Centre. Roman works currently with the International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group) in developing index-based risk transfer solutions. He holds a PhD in Geoscience from the University of Fribourg/ Switzerland. Roman is our Chief climate expert and risk manager for seawater agriculture issues.
André Hogguer, team
Dutch national, with more than 25 years work experiences for global IT companies, e.g. IBM, Hewlett Packard and Gartner group. He acts as a consultant for large companies overseeing their digital transformation and innovation projects. He develops strategies and business cases for areas like eHealth (national health-record and therapy compliances and clinical decision support systems), utilities (smart cities, distributed power grids and energy efficiency platforms), Industry 4.0 (IOT, AI and predictive models to enhance data into value and to transform from CAPEX to OPEX). He studied at University St.Gallen/ Switzerland.
Tomoo Shoji MSc., team
Japanese national, he is a well-known, international expert for Nature-based solutions, in particular in the fields of terrestrial plant ecology, irrigation, environment & water resources management as well as in preventing desertification. He has been the project designer and environmental advisor for JBIC, JICA, OECF, United Nations, UAE University, JCCP, PDO, and the MECA (Sultanate of Oman). With over 40 years of environmental working expertise for various ministries and companies, e.g. Mitsubishi, Mr Shoji adds strong technical expertise to the reforestation project capabilities and execution. He designed and facilitated the JICA Mangrove transplanting master plan for marine environmental conservation strategy 2040 and the action plan Oman in collaboration with UNEP and UNDP. Mr Shoji holds a Master of Environmental Sciences of the University of Tsukuba, Ibaraki, Japan.
Badar Yousuf Al Bulushi, team
Sultanate of Oman national with more than 30 years experience in costal zone management involving marine and wetland conservation. Mr Al Bulushi worked for the ministry of environmental authority & climate affairs of the Sultanate of Oman. He headed and managed large-scale mangrove transplanting projects. Mr Al Bulushi’s other fields of expertise are: Marine pollution monitoring surveillance and investigation, sewage treatment and disposal, algal bloom management, quantitative modelling for predicting behaviour and hazards of chemical spill of aquatic environments, oil spill response management, as well as corral reef protection.
